FLYINGBOW MUSIC MINISTRY TAKES ITS VISION TO THE NEXT LEVEL

GUELPH, ON — (CANADIAN CHRISTIAN NEWS SERVICE) — Flyingbow Music Ministry is taking its vision of “musicians and artists called by God to encourage others to discover and worship Jesus Christ” to the next level with the addition of three new partner artist ministries and launch of a new website.

Started in 2005 as an initiative by progressive rock/world violinist Trevor Dick, Flyingbow was to provide a supportive team behind his music ministry. “Flyingbow’s vision was always to include other musicians and artists,” says Trevor Dick, Flyingbow artistic director. “An early initiative was the 2007 tour for the launch of the Glory & Peace CD which included live art by visual artist Tina Newlove, dance with Hanna Briggs and a full band.”

Building on that vision and experience, the Flyingbow Board of Directors has worked diligently to discern God’s will and the best practices in working with other artists. That has led to a renewed vision and a new partnership not only with Trevor, but also with:

1:11 Ministries – A dynamic team of dancers, speakers, and musicians, 1:11 aims to reveal Jesus through their unique and powerful mix of message and medium.

Michael Austin Harris – an eclectic songwriter, having written in Contemporary Christian Music (CCM), Gospel, Country, Folk, R&B, Reggae and Hip-Hop genres. He also performs and leads choirs/worship teams.

Okama – an Indigenous worship band founded in 2010 by First Nation leaders Gerard Roberts, traditional name (Abouyou), of the Karina nation, and his wife Peta-Gay (Tayaliti) Roberts of the Taino/Arawak First Nations.

The partnership will see Flyingbow provide practical support to the artists (flyingbow.com), with the artists promoting the vision of Flyingbow. The partnership will strengthen and encourage both partners in ways that will see God’s kingdom broadened through music and the arts.

“We’re excited about the direction God has taken Flyingbow Music Ministry in the past few years,” says board chair Robert White. “It’s been challenging and we know further challenges lie ahead but God will help us meet them.”
