TORONTO, Ontario – (CANADIAN CHRISTIAN NEWS SERVICE) – Until February 1st, 2018, The Word Guild will be accepting entries for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of The Word Awards (previously the Canadian Christian Writing Awards) acknowledging the best work published in many genres; for both the Christian and General markets by Canadian writers who affirm The Apostles’ Creed. There is no higher recognition; this side of the clouds, for Canadian writers who are Christian!
This year the guild will pull out all the stops for the twelfth annual Awards Gala; black-tie event. A highlight of the Awards Gala will be the ninth annual presentation of the Grace Irwin Award. This $5,000 prize, donated by retired book publisher John W. Irwin (nephew of the award’s namesake) and his wife Eleanor, represents Canada’s largest literary prize for Christian writers. This award will honour the best book published in 2017 by a Christian Canadian author. Castle Quay is again sponsoring The Best New Canadian Manuscript Category with a prize that includes a full publishing package. All shortlisted writers will be introduced, with winners being announced and celebrated.
