HIGHLIGHT: International Fellowship of Christians and Jews
A Year After the Invasion, Jews in Ukraine Hang on to Optimism
It’s been one year.
The Russian invasion has left cities in Ukraine like Odesa with closed shops and traffic lights turned off. And in cities like Mykolaiv, citizens rely on water rations.
We are big fans of musicals, and Fiddler on the Roof is among our favourites. So it is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Topol, the Israeli actor and singer most famous for his role as Tevye, a Jewish father and milkman in turn-of-the-century Ukraine, facing the poverty and anti-Semitism still faced today by so many.
