JUST HOW BRAVE ARE YOU? – NEW BOOK BY CANADIAN CHRISTIAN AUTHOR CHALLENGES WOMEN

Brave Women, Bold Moves (Word Alive Press, 2019) is author Cathie Ostapchuk’s compelling answer to the sometimes-complicated question of where women find their purpose in a world that pressures them to conform to the expectations and demands of others.

Cathie Ostapchuk is a speaker, leadership development trainer, consultant, and coach. Her work has included collaborations with national and global non-profit organizations, such as World Vision and Compassion Canada, and has taken her across Canada and the world. Ostapchuk is a National Speaker for Leader Impact and is the co-founder of Gather Women.

In Brave Women, Bold Moves, Ostapchuk answers the challenge inherent in the question, “Where did bravery ever get you?” with a deep dive into the stories of Biblical women who chose courage over comfort and conformity.

“I went back to the biblical stories of women with a fresh intent to explore how women moved the story of God forward,” explains the author. “What I found has impacted my own bold moves and brave obedience as I realized that women were significant in shaping the trajectory of history – a history that started before Genesis and led to the coming of the Messiah.”

Authors and readers who have already endorsed the book include church leader Carey Nieuwhof, author and speaker Danielle Strickland, pastor and writer Bruxy Cavey and author Ann Voskamp who writes: “Cathie Ostapchuk is a Canadian voice to listen to, a national leader of uncommon wisdom, deeply committed to faithfully passing on the torch of faith to the next generation. Read these pages and feel the marrow in your bones ignite with bold courage!”

Ostapchuk hopes readers will, “lean into the lessons that come from studying the lives of biblical women, both past and present. My hope is that they would begin to see themselves in at least one of these stories, and be shaped by the stories gifted to us by the inspired writers of Scripture.”

Being brave, says Ostapchuk, comes from first being obedient. “There is no box and no rules when one steps out and steps into the risk of obeying God.”

Two Ontario-area book events are currently planned.
