LORNA DUECK APPOINTED CEO OF CROSSROADS CHRISTIAN COMMUNICATIONS INC.

TORONTO — (CANADIAN CHRISTIAN NEWS SERVICE) — Crossroads Christian Communications Inc. (Crossroads) and Media Voice Generation Inc. are excited to announce that Lorna Dueck has been appointed CEO of Crossroads effective July 11, 2016.

“Lorna is uniquely qualified with both vision and experience to lead Crossroads into its future,” says Gil Scott, Crossroads Board Chair. “She has been at the forefront of Christian journalism in Canada, garnering global recognition for her work in media. Her unique faith perspective on current and cultural events has established her as a sought after voice and trusted guide.”

With over 30 years of media experience, Lorna brings an insider’s perspective having been part of the Crossroads team from 1994 – 2002, serving as TV co-host of 100 Huntley Street with Crossroads Founder, Rev. David Mainse. From that vantage point, Lorna established a visible Christian witness in Canadian news media by creating Media Voice Generation (MVG) in 2004, and began to operate a Christian weekly news analysis program, Context with Lorna Dueck, out of the CBC building in downtown Toronto. This move continues to position MVG in the heart of Canada’s news centre.

“Lorna’s primary role will now be to give leadership and vision to Crossroads and YES TV,” said Media Voice Generation Board Chair, Cheryl Hudson. “While leading from Crossroads’ Burlington headquarters, she will continue as a public voice at Context with Lorna Dueck.”

This appointment opens the door for a collaborative approach between MVG and Crossroads, to present a strong and vibrant Christian message in Canadian media.
Both charities can benefit from synergies that will allow them to be more effective in delivering the world’s greatest story through relevant and timely programming.

Lorna completed her undergraduate studies at Tyndale University College in Toronto, and earned a Master of Arts in Evangelism and Leadership from Wheaton College. She has served on various non-profit Boards and received leadership awards along with honorary doctorate degrees from Trinity Western, Tyndale and Briercrest Universities. Lorna has received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for contributions to Canadian society.

Media Voice Generation and Crossroads Christian Communications Inc. are grateful for the faithful and ongoing support for Christian media ministry by donors and prayer partners during this positive time of transition.
