Toronto, ON –Love is Moving is a cutting edge brand new television series featuring young people living out love in their communities. This new TV show demonstrates how faith inspired love is changing communities through youth.
Lorna Dueck, award-winning producer Joel Gordon and family therapist and pastor Benjamin Porter have produced 6 episodes filmed at CBC studios, on-location in churches and in surrounding communities throughout Canada and across the border. The series features youth on a journey towards discovering the Biblical truth about love, hosted by New York-based hip hop artist Eternia and dancer Gregory Hines. *Sneak Preview: Episode one features global hip hop artist Emmanuel Jal’s story of survival, redemption and faith.
Mainstream media often portrays love as a purely selfish and sexual feeling, leaving young people unequipped to understand and express the true emotion. LIM aims to explore love from a Biblical perspective, teaching young people how to express love in a way that encourages spiritual growth and transformational change in their communities.
Hemorrhaging Faith, a ground-breaking study conducted by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, explores why and when Canadian young adults are leaving, staying and returning to church. According to the study, only 33% of Canadian young adults who attended church regularly as a child continue to today. The study also found that young people crave authentic experiences as they journey to be transformed by God’s love.
Love Movement found similar results in their conversations with teens and young adults. They are thirsting for authentic, engaging experiences that lead to a deeper relationship with their Creator. Love Movement’s complimentary “Take Action” curriculum, paired with the brand new TV series, responds to this need by encouraging youth and young adults to commit to loving God and others in a new and radical way.
