The Board of Directors of Promise Keepers Canada | Impactus is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Dean Brenton as the ministry’s new President, effective January 1, 2021. He succeeds former President Kirk Giles, who served in the role for the past 11 years.
Brenton has served for 30 years in pastoral ministry and denominational executive leadership, including 8 years as the Executive Director of Church Ministries and 5 years as the Executive Director of Ministry Development and Strategic Initiatives for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador. Dean has been an active part of national, provincial, and parachurch boards, committees, initiatives, and events. Dean has also done extensive work and study in the areas of discipleship, ministry, and mission.

McArthur, Interim Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the President Search Committee. “Dean’s heart for ministry to men along with his experience in international missions and discipleship is a perfect fit for our new direction as a global men’s ministry.”
Brenton feels this is a tremendous opportunity to lead the ministry, as it has recently launched a new name, website impactus.org and ministry strategy this past September. “I am grateful, humbled, and excited to be joining the Promise Keepers Canada | Impactus team at this critical juncture in our history. I am standing on the shoulders of incredible leaders, including outgoing President, Kirk Giles, who guided this ministry with effectiveness, passion, and integrity. The unprecedented disruptions of the past months have provided us with unparalleled opportunities for the future. Our ministry has never been more uniquely poised and united in focus to equip men for a life of purpose and godly impact.”
Brenton recently completed his thesis on Missional Leadership as a part of his Masters in Theological Studies. He most recently has served as a Part-Time Instructor with Tyndale University (Toronto, ON) and Queen’s College (St. John’s, NL).
