SIM CANADA APPOINTS RUSSELL WOLF AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Scarborough, Ont., June 15, 2023 – SIM Canada, a global faith mission that sends Christian workers to serve in more than 70 countries globally, has named Russell Wolf as the new Executive Director. Wolf will assume his responsibilities in mid-October 2023. He brings proven leadership, a strong track record of over 30 years of entrepreneurial and leadership experience, and missions service in South Sudan.

Wolf was resoundingly approved by the SIM’s Board of Governors and SIM Canada members.

“The task of the Board to find our new Executive Director has been a journey of patience, prayer and growing expectation,” said Mike Sherbino, Board Chair of SIM Canada. “On the other side of the globe, God was preparing a couple who were willing and wanting to be in the centre of the Father’s will. When both sides met, there was a Spirit-given assurance that this was all of God and for his glory. The SIM Canada Board are delighted that Russell and Anita said ‘Yes’.”

Wolf and his wife have been on the ground in East Africa with the SIM South Sudan Team for four years. They’ve demonstrated a commitment to using their leadership skills and working with the team to share Christ’s love with those that may not yet have heard it. With a focus on one-on-one mentorship, leading men’s Bible studies and discipleship, Wolf has chosen an open posture and desires to use his skills where God requires.

“I have been truly blessed over the years with so many opportunities to develop and grow as a child of God, as a servant of God,” said Russell Wolf, newly appointed Executive Director of SIM Canada. “As I look back over the 56 years of my life, it is truly amazing to see the opportunities that I have been given by our Lord to mould me, prepare me to have the skill set to serve Him as Executive Director of SIM Canada.”

Headshot of Russell WolfWolf is married to his wife Anita; together, they have three children and six grandchildren. He was born and raised in Alberta, where he purchased 320 acres of land at the age of 18, which grew to 6,500 acres. Wolf’s years of service in Canadian cooperatives provided him with the opportunity to travel to every province of Canada, including the territory of Nunavut. He has seen firsthand the beautiful diversity of the country as well as the opportunity to mobilize and grow God’s kingdom not only in Canada but globally.
