The single is the first release from SoulCorde Music’s debut album, “Let the Healing Begin”, a nine-song collection of original music born from Paula Walker and her husband, drummer Pat Carrano’s volunteer music education and ministry work with inmates in a Canadian federal institution.
Since beginning their program in the winter of 2024, Walker and Carrano have witnessed firsthand how music can create space for reflection, hope, personal transformation, and healing. Walker, an educator, songwriter, and Christian, believes music can help encourage healthier patterns of thought while echoing the biblical call to the “renewing of the mind” (Romans 12:2).
The album grew directly out of requests from inmates who wanted recordings of the songs they had learned and sung during SoulCorde’s music program; music they could continue to reflect upon between program sessions. That request inspired Walker and Carrano to professionally record the collection, creating an album that could carry the songs beyond the walls where they began.
All nine songs are written, arranged, produced, and led vocally by Paula Walker, with Pat Carrano on drums. SoulCorde’s music ministry and educational program operates entirely on a volunteer basis.
With the album being independently released, SoulCorde Music hopes its message will reach far beyond the correctional setting. At its core is a simple conviction: our world needs peace and healing.
As Walker puts it, the goal of the ministry is not simply to teach music, but to encourage transformation: “Once you are released from these walls, I don’t want to see you back here again, and that means you cannot go out the same person you entered in as.”
To help bring the music directly to those who inspired it, 300 professionally produced CDs featuring eight-page lyric booklets are being prepared for distribution to inmates encountered through SoulCorde’s ministry.
“Let the Healing Begin” will be available September 17, 2026, followed by the official music video on September 22, 2026.
Additional CD’s will be available for purchase. Proceeds will go towards SoulCorde’s prison ministry. More information available on their website.

About SoulCorde Music

One might say that when husband and wife team – Pat Carrano and Paula Walker – united their extensive music training and experience together, it wasn’t unlike how Reese’s pieces came to pass: chocolate fell down the stairs and landed into some peanut butter.
One could argue which is the chocolate and which the nut!
In the Spring of 2020, this fusion birthed their own form of RockSpel, during a time when home became church and their worship without walls returned them to a place where (like the Psalms of David) they held nothing back.
Their plethora of original songs not only touch down on the surface of our world’s chaos, but dig deep into the hearts of those who long to be heard and who long to worship without restriction or condemnation; seeking unity in a divided world.
Since early 2024, Paula and Pat have been bringing their music ministry to a Canadian Federal prison; writing songs for and about the men, to guide in their rehabilitation. Additionally, Paula teaches music to the men and has built a worship team.
With the men’s persistence – “to be able play the songs [on CD] written for us in our cells” – Paula set to the task to arrange, produce, and record SoulCorde’s first album, entitled “Let the Healing Begin”.
The first single off the album is set for release on Paula’s birthday, September 17, 2026.
