WATER AMBASSADORS CANADA ANNOUNCES BRIAN JOHNS AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Water Ambassadors Canada, a leading registered charity helping to bring clean water to developing countries, today announced that Brian Johns has been named Chief Executive Officer. Johns’ employment with Water Ambassadors Canada began in early July, undertaking a restructuring of the charity, as well as leading a brand rebuild, while changing operational execution to better deliver on the charities’ mission under the environment of COVID-19.

Johns has over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience, including 15 years in the independent grocery industry in Ontario, Canada. Further to that, he brings board experience both at the industry level, as well as a decade in the charitable/non-profit sector.

“Brian is the right leader at the right time for Water Ambassadors Canada”, said Barry Hart, Co-Founder and Chair of the Board. “After an exhaustive national search over three months, Brian’s extensive leadership background in a results driven approach, as well as focusing on continuous improvement is sure to benefit not only the development efforts that we undertake in North America, but globally with our in-country partners, on our mission to change lives with clean water.“

“I am very excited to be joining the Water Ambassadors Canada team,” said Johns. “From my first volunteer experience with joining a well drilling team in Guatemala in 2005, the experience of helping others is something that I have carried with me over the last 15 years. Water Ambassadors Canada doesn’t simply change the lives of those who are receiving clean water, but also those whom are helping to deliver it. I believe that Water Ambassadors Canada is in a unique position in the water charity space to provide the most efficient delivery of results, while ensuring transparency to donors and volunteers across the country.”

Over 1 in 3 people lack access to clean water. Further, this lack of access to clean water is the number one cause of death and disease in the world, and the easiest to fix – give clean water.
