Two arrested after German priest goes missing

Top court calls forced conversions dangerous

Two people have been arrested following the disappearance of a German priest in Mali last week. In recent years, Mali has gradually gone up in the World Watch List of the 50 countries where it is hardest to be a Christian; it is currently 24th.

While India’s constitution protects religious freedom and citizens are free to convert (back) to Hinduism, for those who wish to convert to a minority religion such as Christianity or Islam this freedom is restricted through ‘anti-conversion laws’.
