CANADIAN CHRISTIAN NEWS SERVICE CHANGES OWNERSHIP

MARKHAM, Ontario – The Canadian Christian News Service (CCNS) partnership of Shelley McLagan, Patricia Paddey, and Karen Stiller announce that as of the beginning of next month, the news release distribution service they established to meet the needs of Canadian Christian organizations will be under new ownership. Journalist Robert White, through his freelance company Quail Communications, will take over the CCNS reins effective Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Founded in 2013, CCNS was designed to be a cost-effective, efficient, and reliable means of delivering the good news of Christian non-profit organizations to good places – that is, hundreds of Christian faith-based journalists, media producers, and media outlets.

“Over the past five years, we’ve been delighted to deliver the news releases of a wide variety of clients to members of Canada’s Christian media,” says Stiller. “Quickly, affordably, and easily.”

“From book, music, and movie releases to charity name changes and leadership transitions – CCNS has helped Christian organizations communicate their most important news to the most relevant audiences,” adds McLagan.

“Karen, Shelley and I are business partners, but we are also close friends,” says Paddey. We created and grew CCNS because we believed there was a need for just such a service in Canada. But we all have other careers, and interests. And as the demands of the business grew, we realized that there were times when our other lives had to take more of a back seat than we wanted.”

“About a year ago, we began discussions envisioning a different future for this great little news release delivery service,” adds Stiller, “discussions which led to a series of conversations with Robert White.”

“We’re pleased that Robert has agreed to assume ownership of CCNS because as a Christian and a journalist who is well known and regarded in this country, we believe he gets what this business is all about, and that he will continue to provide the high level of customer service our clients have come to expect,” says McLagan.

“I am excited to be given this responsibility,” says White. During his three-decade career in the media he has worked on both sides of the fence including: a stint as a media relations specialist for a Christian ministry and as a reporter and editor for various Christian publications. He has run Quail Communications full-time for the past decade and a half, providing “media expertise with ministry experience” in media relations and journalism.

“The opportunity to assume ownership of CCNS gives me the chance to use these experiences to continue the great work of Karen, Patricia, and Shelley. I’ve had the chance to watch the growth and reach of CCNS and am excited to now be a part of its continuing success in sharing the stories of Canadian Christian ministries,” says White.
